Abstract

This work presents a novel methodology for enhancing the reliability and efficiency of Visible Light Communication (VLC) systems through strategic user pairing and subcarrier allocation, specifically designed for environments with multiple lamps and users. Our approach addresses the prevalent issue of line-of-sight (LOS) disruptions by extensively using high-quality channels without using channels with LOS link interruptions, ensuring a robust and continuous connection. In pursuit of equitable system performance, we select user pairs for subcarrier assignments, focusing on fairness across the network. Through extensive numerical simulations that mimic random user movements in indoor settings, we evaluate our approach against conventional strategies. The results clearly indicate a notable improvement in the throughput for individual users, underscoring the effectiveness of our proposed solution in optimizing VLC systems for multi-lamp, multi-user scenarios.
