N2 - Provided with low cost and excellent combination properties, Fe-based composites gradually became the hotspot of composite materials. Factors affecting the performance of Fe-based composites, including matrix, reinforcement and composite interface, were briefly expounded. The major preparation methods of Fe-based composites were summarized. Furthermore, research statuses of particle reinforced Fe-based composites, Fe-based clad plates and fiber reinforced Fe-based composites were listed, respectively. Finally, research directions and applica-tion prospects of Fe-based composites were discussed. It was stated that synergistic preparation methods, complicated structures, diversified applications and high-throughput technology would play important roles in the development of Fe-based composites.
