Abstract

Based on the quasi-isentropic property of flier-plates with graded wave impedance impacting on the secondary flier-plate, design rules for flier-plates with graded wave impedance are proposed. According to the design rules, a flier-plate consisting of a set of materials including TPX, MB2, Al, Ti, Cu and Ta is presented, and the impedance distribution of this flier-plate is calculated. The results show that the wave impedance ratios of front and rear surfaces of the to the flier-plate to that of the secondary flier-plate are 0.08 and 2.45 respectively.
