Abstract

A complicated model for shifting process of synchromesh-based automated mechanical transmission(AMT) was established. Then, the effects of shifting force on the jerk and friction power were analyzed. A new cascaded shifting controller was developed to resolve the contradiction between the jerk and friction power. In the controller, a fuzzy logic control algorithm based on the jerk feedback improves the shifting quality, and a comparison algorithm takes the friction power in the synchronizer ring as a constraint condition to improve the lifetime of the synchronizer. The bench tests were carried out to verify the control strategy the experiment results indicate that the strategy mentioned in this paper is feasible.
