Abstract

New energy vehicles (NEVs) have become the main direction of the development of the global automobile industry, where the number of NEVs worldwide keeps growing rapidly. Meanwhile, the number of accidents related to batteries, electric motors and controllers, such as loss of power, fire and explosion also increases, making safety a critical research topic in the NEV industry. On this basis, on top of design defects, usage behavior and environmental factors, we illustrate how big data and related technologies can be applied in fault diagnosis on NEVs. In this way, the proposed method has been verified by real-world operation data, where some failures can be detected in advance to avoid accidents.
