Abstract
Hydraulic free piston engine is one of the new type power machinery which integrated into the internal combustion engine and the plunger pump. The multi-parameter coupling simulation model based on the piston dynamics, in-cylinder thermodynamic and hydraulic system dynamics was established. This model was established according to analyzing its working principle and the model's parameter was given by the actual parameters of the development of the principle prototype. And the coupling simulation model was certificated by the experimental results of prototype. The research results have better consistency between the simulation results and the experimental results, especially the piston dynamics result. It is shown that the coupling simulation model can be used in simulating the piston characteristics with high accuracy. These results have provided the foundation and research methods for theoretical and characteristic performance of hydraulic free piston engine.
