Research on mass customization production pattern based on total-life-cycle

Abstract

The key technologies of mass customization production pattern based on total-life-cycle are presented. The response model is put forward by analyzing the differences among the three production pattern, such as piece-to-piece customization, mass production and mass customization. The characteristics of mass customization, including the separate between design and customization, delay strategy and modular technology et al., are also derived. The key technologies corresponding with every stage of total-life-cycle are studied, such as the product family design methodology based on DFx (Design For Product life-cycle), the process of customization and configuration including steps of the requirement and engineering configuration, planning process of production line based on machine cell, the planning methodology of logistics and supply chain based on product family and JIT (Just in Time) strategy, and the transformation arithmetic for design structure matrix aimed to concurrent assembly line planning et al. The above research can be benefit for the practical application of mass customization.
