Abstract

This paper presented the diesel engine modeling method named cylinder moving based on the filling and emptying method, aimed at settling the conflict of precision and real-time performance in the ECU hardware-in-loop simulation (HILS). A diesel engine model was made in MATLAB/SIMULINK based on the filling and emptying method. A cylinder moving model was made by the method of cylinder moving on the assumption that all cylinders of the engine worked by the same way. The two types of the models, the filling and emptying diesel engine model and the cylinder moving model were downloaded to the dSPACE Autobox separately. The simulation experimentation indicates that it can increase the simulation speed by three times by using the model of a diesel engine developed through the method of cylinder moving.
