Abstract

The tracking algorithm based on image sequence is a premise of the surface vehicle executing the search and reconnaissance tasks. Camshift algorithm can't accurately track the target at the interference of environment and complex background. To solve this problem, an improved algorithm combining Camshift algorithm with Kalman filter was proposed. Camshift algorithm calculates the position and size of the moving target by using the color histogram feature of the target. Kalman filter estimates the center of target and corrects the iterative results of Camshift algorithm. The experimental result shows that the improved algorithm effectively increases the accuracy of target tracking and has a strong robustness.
