Abstract

Ming-style furniture is the elite of Chinese traditional furniture, which is doing well in human factors engineering. Chinese traditional armchair with four protruding ends has backrest, neckrest, armrest, footrest, and so on, which support the body properly. Based on the study of Chinese traditional armchair with four protruding ends, the practice of human factors engineering in Ming-style furniture is summarized, which is meaningful for the design of Chinese traditional furniture to develop ergonomics.
