Abstract

In this paper, a new kind of end-fire antenna array is designed. If the number of end-fire array elements is small, elements should be also close to each other depending on Hansen-Woodyard condition. But less spacing increases the coupling between antenna elements and affects the overall performance of antenna array. Antenna array pattern formula was re-derived, and we designed a new phase relationship. The directivity of new end-fire array is higher than ordinary ones and the coupling is lower than Hansen-Woodyard array.
