Research on energy output characteristics for underwater explosion of explosives

Abstract

The underwater explosion parameters including shock wave energy, bubble energy, shock wave pressure and factors (k and α) of shock wave pressure of the different underwater weapons were measured, calculated and analyzed by the detonation parameters of different typical explosives. The experimental result is very consistent with the calculated one. The calculation formula of α for shock wave pressure was firstly found, providing the scientific basis for the underwater explosive formulation designs, warhead designs and performance evaluation of explosives.
