Abstract

This paper outlines the research on digital beamforming technology based on orthogonal signal. The transmit antenna powered by orthogonal signal, transmitting energy is equally in all directivity, so transmit beam has not been formed, but transmit beam and receive beam have been formed at receive antenna by digital beamforming technology. W e introduce the structure of the antenna array and derive the beam pattern of the antenna array analytically, which shows that it is equal to the product of transmitter and receiver beam pattern. By analyzing the phase shift of transmit antenna array and the receive antenna array in detail, we find the digital beamforming technology based on orthogonal signal is different from regular digital beamforming technology, and we propose new digital beamforming method based on orthogonal signal. Simulation results verify it.
