N2 - In the past 40 years, software development methodology has made significant contribution to the software engineering. What is more, the booming of Internet brought new challenges to software development. To coping with the changes of application background and personalized requirements, this paper presents an agile development methodology of service-oriented personalized software from a research perspective. Firstly, the history of software development methodology is reviewed with focus on the driving forces of software technology. Secondly, we analyzed the software services ability, increased by the user-driven requirements in network environment. Then the agile development methodology is proposed based on users' individualities and context, which is a "meet in middle" method of software development. Driven by users' diversity and personalized requirements this method can be presented as composition of service resources on demand and approach to the target gradually. This is an effective way to meet increasing application software requirements.
