Abstract

The MSRR (Modeling and Simulation Resource Repository) provides the data service for simulation applications, and its performance is vital in the simulation process. The M&S (modeling and simulation) resources always present diverse and distributed characters due to the development of computer and military application. The existed MSRR, which mainly aims to the local resources, can not meet the requirements of distributed simulation resources. After researching on the features of the distributed military oriented simulation resources, a XML-based extensible MSRR was created under a careful consideration for the application requirements. Using environment resource as target, implementation in resources standard description, integration and exchange was researched based on XML. Now, this system has been applied in an Air defense simulation environment, enhances the inter-operability and reusability of M&S resource and proves to be efficient and flexible.
