Reflecting laser velocimetry

Abstract

A reflecting laser velocimetry for measuring the projectile velocity is designed. This velocimetry measures not only the impact velocity of a projectile, but also the velocity profile of a projectile penetrating a thick plate. The power attenuation in the light path of the measurement system is investigated, the major factors influencing on the measurement precision are analyzed and the uncertainty which is better than 1.0% in measurement of this reflecting laser velocimetry is determined.
