Abstract

Using radio tomographic imaging method to locate the target in the area consisting by wireless sensor network is presented. Some links between nodes experience dramatic change because of shadowing loss caused by target's obstruction. Therefore, this paper illustrates the linear model relating the change of RSS to the attenuation within each pixel; gives the minimum mean square error solution for the model; uses data pre-processing method to eliminate the imbalance of shadowing loss among different links. The experimental results show that the average location error of the algorithm for a single target is only 0.095 m when using 16 nodes covering the area with size of 4.8 m×4.8 m.
