Abstract

This paper focuses on the noise reduction of the 4102 diesel engine. Through the diesel engine test, the noise sources are identified. It is showed that the oil pan and train valve covers are the main noise sources of the engine. Three-dimensional finite element analysis with ANSYS general purpose program and model experiment analysis of the oil pan and train valve covers have been carried out, using the damp material to reduce the noise. The engine noise experiment shows that the damping technique can reduce the noise.
