Abstract

Time and costs are of great concern for designing a simulator. It's not always wise to introduce an extra simulator to debug and test a signal processing system. In this paper, considering the characteristics of the signal processor, we propose a novel method of incorporating radar echo simulation capability into the signal processor with no extra hardware resource needed. Detailed mathematical modelling of the exact radar echo is first presented. Then the design of echo simulation function is elaborated. Taking into account the very short development time, the experimental results are very satisfying.
