Abstract

Future outdoor application of terahertz wireless communication technique requires researches on channel performance in atmospheric weather conditions. In this work, we report performance of THz channels, including amplitude and phase, in falling rain by a wideband terahertz pulse and a 16-QAM data stream. In the measurement, obvious channel degradation caused by amplitude attenuation can be observed, besides strong water vapor absorption.
