Abstract

The development in reverse-flow catalytic combustion technology was summarized and its characteristics were introduced. The reverse-flow catalytic combustion technology is one of the realized industrialization and widely applied unsteady catalyst technologies. The technology had many advantages, such as high integration level, high heat recovery efficiency, strong anti-interference ability, large operation elasticity and self-maintained autothermal state. The technology can be applied to produce secondary energy or chemicals, purify the industrial waste gases and remove VOCs. The research progresses in the application of the technology were reviewed and the prospects in the future were forecasted.
