Abstract

Because the redox potential of copper is lower, it is difficult to preparation well-stabilized copper cluster. Copper cluster which is well-stabilized, well-degree of dispersion, smaller in diameter, can be obtained in presence of dendrimer as a template and hydrazine as a reductant under air. UV-Visible absorption and transmission electron microscopy are used to study the structure and property of copper cluster. The data show that the reduced Cu does not exist as isolated atoms, but rather as cluster. Change of the pH value of solution great influences the particle size, dispersion and stability. The results show that the solution at pH 7.0±0.5, the stability and dispersion of the obtained copper cluster are too better.
