Abstract

The presence of impurities such as amorphous carbon, carbon nanoparticles and catalyst particles in the crude products of carbon nanotubes is not conducive to the systematic study of the intrinsic physical and chemical properties of carbon nanotubes, and the purification of CNTs is required necessarily. In this paper, the CNTs/KNO3 was purified by neutralisation method to increase their surface area for effective loading, and fully characterized. The results indicated the fractal dimension of the prepared CNTs/KNO3 was increased, and the decomposition temperature and activation energy of CNTs/KNO3 was elevated effectively compared with unloaded CNTs.
