Abstract

The bullet-proof mechanisms of composite materials were discussed. A statistical model was established to predict the ballistic property of the composites. It was found that there is a linear relationship between the energy absorption of composite materials during bullet impact and the surface density of reinforced materials, while the main energy absorption mechanism of composite materials during bullet impact is related to the energy absorption of reinforced materials during bending deformation.
