Abstract

The performance of antilock braking system (ABS)-equipped vehicles during cornering braking on bisectional roads is studied. Vehicle dynamics model of four-wheels with tire slip angle during cornering braking is built up. Braking performance of ABS-equipped vehicles are analyzed based on the dynamics model on two types of bisectional roads both of lower adhesion coefficient inside the vehicle and lower adhesion coefficient outside the vehicle by many tire slip ratio methods of control. The methods of control of ABS-equipped vehicles during cornering braking are brought forward on the two types of bisectional roads, thus enhancing the stabilities and ensuring the efficiency of ABS-equipped vehicles during cornering braking.
