Abstract

A STBC-VBLAST hybrid system based on GMD precoding algorithm is proposed. At the receiver, we made use of ZF-SIC and MMSE-SIC detection algorithms to recover the original data, and we compare the performance of the two detection algorithms. The simulation results indicate that the GMD algorithm can improve the hybrid system's performance greatly. The simple STBC-VBLAST hybrid system based on GMD precoding algorithm reduces the complexity of the system compared with the scheme proposed by C. Mengand J. Tuqanin despite of depressing the BER performance appreciably. The performance of MMSE-SIC detection algorithm outperforms ZF-SIC detection algorithm, both algorithms having comparative complexity.
