Abstract

The performance analysis and simulation of spectrally efficient modulation schemes, MPSK and MQAM, for Ka-band fixed satellite communication system are provided. The effects of bandwidth limitation, nonlinearity distortion and adjacent channel interference in Ka-band satellite channel corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise are taken into account. The analytical expressions of the BER (bit error rate) of coherent MPSK and MQAM signal are in good agreement with the simulation results.
