Abstract
Circular arrays are widely used because of their pattern characteristic, but their sidelobe levels are high compared to their mainlobe level. To resolve this problem efficiently, directional elements are used and proper radiation functions are chosen. The simulation results show that directional elements can improve the pattern of the circular arrays and the formation of their self-adaptive nulls obviously, but they have no effect on those of the linear arrays.
