Abstract

For detection and imaging of moving targets in clutter, the constraint conditions and the optimization criterion of designing the stepped frequency waveform parameters are analyzed and the signal processing algorithm is proposed in this research. The signal processing method is based on the pulse Doppler (PD) processing to measure the radial velocity among pulses at the same frequency from different bursts. The subsequent processing includes clutter rejection, echo compensation and synthesizing high range resolution profiles. Simulation has been implemented based on the parameters of a real radar system. The results manifest that the proposed algorithm could extract small target information in clutter and obtain the perfect one-dimension high range resolution profile (HRRP) with the advantages of good anti-noise performance, small calculating amount and simple engineering realization.
