Abstract

Since the Doppler frequency cannot be extracted from echo signals of the impulse radar, the traditional imaging method is no longer applicable to the impulse radar imaging system in the frequency domain. In recent years, imaging algorithms based on impulse radars attract more and more attention and these algorithms are reviewed. The definition of the impulse radars are briefly described. Three classes of imaging algorithms based on impulse radars are summarized, the principles of these algorithms are elaborated and the advantages and disadvantages of them are pointed out. Finally, the trend of impulse radar imaging is forecasted.
