Abstract

It has been over 80 years since the systematic studies on the synthesis of zeolites in 1940s by Barrer. Along with the continuous discovery of new zeolitic materials, zeolite science has experienced several revolutionary progresses in the applications involving industry catalysis and adsorptive separation. In this account, we will briefly look back on our journey in zeolite science covering structure design and synthesis of new zeolitic structures, gaining new insights into zeolite crystallization mechanism, development of new synthesis strategies, expanding zeolite applications from catalysis and separation to other emerging field such as energy storage. Some of the works are from the fruitful collaboration with Corma's group. Finally, the future perspectives in zeolite science are provided.
