Abstract

Tomlinson-Harashima Precoding (THP), as an alternative algorithm of Dirty Paper Precoding (DPC), can effectively decrease transmitted power through modulo operation. To further reduce the power loss of THP, THP with constellation tilting (THP-CT) was considered by introducing different rotation angles into interfering data streams. In this paper, we propose methods to find the adequate tilting angles for the THP-CT algorithm, including per-stream serial optimization via convex optimization algorithm and global optimization via particle swarm algorithm. The simulation result shows that Block Error Rate (BLER) of these two proposed algorithms is 2-3dB better than that of the conventional THP without constellation tilting.
