Abstract

The discharge cross-talk between neighboring cells of PDP with long gap between two sustaining electrodes has been studied by using two dimensional fluid model. In the configuration of large sustaining electrode gap, the cross-talk would occur whether there exists a floating electrode between two sustaining electrodes or not. Meanwhile the cross-talk depends on the operation voltage. The higher the voltage, the easier the cross-talk takes place. But the cross-talk only occurs during first several earlier sustaining pulses in simulations. Inserting a floating electrode between neighboring cells would help to prevent the cross-talk effectively while keeping the efficiency of Xe excitation unchanged.
