Abstract

To investigate the dynamic blast overpressure field, the dynamic blast process of spherical charge was simulated in SPEED software. The contours of overpressure and peak pressure (ΔP) at typical azimuth (θ) and scaled distance (Z) were obtained. The results show that the overpressure field of dynamic blast presents entirely different characteristics in comparison to the static one. Based on numerical results and the classical overpressure theory, a new calculation model is established by introducing a correction factor containing charge moving velocity (V), θ and Z to Baker formula. The corrected formula is proven to be accurate and universal in predicting dynamic blast overpressure for different charge mass.
