Abstract
To simulate the crack formation and extension process of PBX sample in the quasi-static circular anvil Brazilian test, based on EFG method and cohesive model, the experimental process was calculated by implicit analysis and simulation of LS-DYNA software. The results show that the calculated results are in good agreement with reported experimental ones in literature, proving the feasibility of the method. The fracture process of PBX can be well described by linear cohesive model. The crack initiation of PBX sample occurs after the compression load reaches the peak value, and with the further compression of compression anvil, the crack of the specimen center extends along the diameter direction to the anvil.
