Abstract

This paper describes the three-dimensional modeling of an induction heating processing for crankshaft. To realize the suitable processing parameters of induction heating, magneto-thermal coupled analysis of eddy currents and heat conduction have been carried out by using the finite element method. The dependence of material properties on temperature is taken into account in numerical simulation. Influences of induction heating parameters on eddy current and temperature are identified. The transient temperature field of heated crankshaft is obtained. The simulation results can offer a reference in determining processing parameters.
