Abstract

To disclosure the mechanics of generating sound in jet stream modulated with high pressure, 2D axial symmetry model was build to simulate the airflow field using LES turbulence model. It is obviously found that how the energy transfers in the process of vortex interacting with wave, a vortex absorbs energy from the wave which is the pressure wave, and releases energy to the wave which is rarefaction wave. Finally, the relationship between the frequency and the direction of sound induced by modulation jet stream was obtained. It expresses that the lower frequency of jet stream, the stronger direction of sound.
