Abstract

In order to get the general structure responses of the ship under internal explosion with a net TNT equivalence of 165 kg, a numerical finite element model of the general ship is established with AUTODYN. The dynamic response is analyzed by the multi-material Euler-Godunov solver and 1-D remap algorithm. Typical crevasses, dilapidated regions and characteristics of shock environment are discussed. The simulated results show that AUTODYN can be used to calculate the response of ship structure under internal explosion, which provides technical reference for the calculation of internal explosion of large ships. The shock environment near the detonation location is severe, and the acceleration response amplitude presents exponential decay property with the increase in detonation distance.
