Abstract
Two optimal solutions are proposed for the empennages to solve the problem of low static stability of gun-launched missile. Based on the three-dimension N-S equations combined with S -A turbulence model, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of gun-launched missile. Parameters of the aerodynamic characteristics of gun-launched missile were obtained. Computational aerodynamic characteristics were found to be in good agreement with wind tunnel test results. The research results show that the proposed two optimal solutions can effectively improve the static stability and the lift force of gun-launched missile.
