Abstract

The wavefront reconstruction methods for correlating Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor are studied. A new wavefront reconstruction method based on relative shifts between neighboring subimages is presented. Compared with the usual method based on single reference subimage, the new method has a lot larger measuring range. Under 8 × 8 subapertures with the 4 corner parts removed, the measuring range is enlarged by 16 times when measuring the defocused wavefront. The more subapertures used, the larger number of times by which the measuring range is enlarged. Precision analysis shows that, under 8 × 8 subapertures with the 4 corner parts removed, the two reconstruction methods have a similar precision. With larger number of subapertures, the precision of the method based on processing of the neighboring subimages is lower than the one using single reference subimage.
