Abstract

The single-crystal X-ray structure of C₁₄H₆O ₇ was analyzed. The compound was prepared by the hydrothermal reaction of SmCl₃.nH₂O and naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic dianhydride in water. After heating at 433 K for 3 d and cooling to room temperature at a rate of 13 K h^-1, yellow needle-shaped crystals of the compound were obtained. In the compound, strong O-H···O hydrogen-bonding interactions between the molecules resulted in a one-dimensional chain-like supramolecular structure.
