Abstract

In this work, we reported nano-sensitized dihydroxylammonium 5,5′-bistetrazole-1,1′-diolate (TKX-50) with micro/nano hierarchical structures were prepared by combined with ball milling and drying technology. The samples were characterized and the results demonstrated that nano sensitized TKX-50 possessed hierarchical network-like framework microstructures composed of TKX-50 nanoparticle units with the sizes of 100 ~ 300 nm. The formation mechanism of micro/nano hierarchical structures was proposed based on the self-assembly of liquid medium evaporation-induced agglomeration in the drying process. In addition, impact sensitivity evaluation showed that the impact sensitivities (H50: 15.0 cm, explosion probability: 100%) of nano sensitized TKX-50 have more sensitive properties than raw TKX-50 (65 cm, 25%). This work can offer a new understanding for the ball milling nano-sized method in energetic materials.
