Abstract
Mutual information (MI) model for LDPC coded OFDM system is proposed. On the purpose of improving the flexibility and accuracy of LDPC-code-based link adaptation technology, the classical turbo-code-based MI model is extended to LDPC codes. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that MI model for LDPC code outperforms the traditional minus exponential effective SNR mapping(EESM) model, both in terms of complexity and veracity of various modulation schemes and different sub-channel states. Thus it can be treated as a link-to-system(L2S) interface for multi-carrier system, typically OFDM system, which provides flexible and fast link adaptation.
