Abstract

To reduce the stresses in the fatigue-prone locations of cylinder head for extending its fatigue life, the stresses in three risk regions in cylinder head are selected as the objectives of optimization to study the effects of the structural parameters of cylinder head on the objectives based on finite element analysis and orthogonal design of experiment. The sensitivity analysis and screening of parameters are conducted, the regression equations of the quadratic response surface for the objectives and structural parameters are established, and a multi-objective optimization is performed with genetic algorithm to obtain an optimal scheme of structural parameter combination.
