Abstract

A new approach for the multi-frequency beam splitter based on Direct-Sequence Code Division Multiple-Access (DS-CDMA) in the test of beamforming networks (BFN) is presented with essential simulation results. This new type of multi-frequency beam splitter is the key technology in Multi-Port Amplitude & Phase Relationship Testing Instrument (MP-APRTI), which aims at measuring the weight matrices of BFN. The proposed method can not only significantly reduces resource consumption in hardware implementation, but it can also effectively saves labor and worktime when measuring, both of which are unattainable by conventional methods ever. Simulation results have strongly tested and verified the mentioned benefits, so far, the new beam splitter in the test of BFN has been applied in practice successfully.
