Abstract

Ground clutter suppression and moving target indication via multiple-channel cross-track interferometry are attractive for SAR with forward looking array in many applications. However the cross baseline is normally sensitive to target's height and not sensitive to target's motion. In this paper, it is found that the interferometry phase of the level cross crack baseline is jointly sensitive to the target's radial velocity and height for the squint looking scenarios. Because the interferometry phase is coupled by the target's height and velocity, a two-dimensional baseline is proposed to suppress the strong clutter and detect the moving target based on a four channel cross-track antenna. Finally, some results of numerical experiments are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
