Abstract
This paper introduces a general approach to analyse the effect of the motion measurement errors (MMEs) on the bistatic spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. The effect of MMEs is comprised of space-variant shift error and defocus. The space-variant shift error can be obtained by comparing the positions of the corresponding points with the same central range and Doppler centroid in the measured and actual geometry. And the defocus can be obtained by comparing the compensating phases of the corresponding points. The presented simulation demonstrates the general approach.
