Abstract

Tetraacetyldinitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (TADN), intermediate in the preparation of CL-20, has been readily synthesized and determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, which favors to understanding the reaction pathway and structure character of polycyclic caged compound. It crystallized in the space group P21/n. with a=11.2231(8)Å, b=14.1083(10)Å, c=11.2331(8)Å, β =102.039(2)° ,V=1739.5(2)Å3, Dcal=1.628g/cm-3, and Z=4.
