N2 - Recently, iterative adaptive approach (IAA) has been adopted to obtain radar range-Doppler imaging with improved resolution and lower sidelobe levels, compared with conventional imaging methods. In this paper, we present a modified iterative adaptive approach based on range-Doppler matched filter outputs (MF-MIAA) within a small processing window. Since the covariance matrices of the range-Doppler cells within a certain processing window are the same with each other, the proposed method is able to reduce the computational cost by at least two orders of magnitude compared with original IAA and matched filter based iterative adaptive approach (MF-IAA), which is demonstrated by numerical simulations together with theoretical analysis.
