Abstract

The laser target simulator is an important component part in the research of laser-guided weapon hardware in the loop simulation system. The laser target simulator is to simulate the target return signals whose properties change with the weather factors, the characteristics of the object and the flight distance, and it provides a return signal similar to the actual signal for the seeker. The feasibility of simulating the target return signal is demonstrated in theory. According to the property of 1.06 μm laser transmission through atmosphere and the influences of all kinds of environments on the laser, the laser energy model is developed which provides a theoretical foundation for the hardware in the loop simulation system of the laser guided weapon.
